MZANSI, stand up Big Brother South Africa is making its way back to you!
M-Net announced last week that its local brand, Mzansi Magic, will produce another South African edition of Big Brother, to be called Big Brother Mzansi.
The action will go down in January 2014 with only South African housemates.
This is not the first Big Brother , as in 2001 M-Net introduced the concept of reality television to Mzansi with the very first 24/7 Big Brother broadcasts in the southern hemisphere.
Last year saw the first South African winner in the Big Brother Africa season, who was Keagan Peterson from Cape Town.
M-Net’s director of local interest channels, Yolisa Phahle, said: “The multiple requests over the years for another local version of this supernova television show, together with the overwhelming viewer response toBig Brother Africa, signalled that it will be a sure-fire hit in our market.
“Adding Big Brother to our varied portfolio of general entertainment ranging from telenovelas, soapies, lifestyle shows, comedies to reality and drama consolidates Mzansi Magic’s commitment to bringing the biggest and best local shows to our viewers.
“And the format is perfectly aligned to our vision to produce the most compelling content for local audiences.”
