Big Brother Mzansi housemates are allowed to speak home languages

Now you know why South Africa is called the Rainbow nation, our country has a very rich diverse culture with 11 official languages.

And before you ask yourself why housemates like Vanessa, Iris, Mandla and sexy Lexi always turn to their mother tongues, you just need to know that Biggie himself allowed them to do so but to a minimal level.

Before they made it to the Big Brother Mzansi house, Biggie briefed all the housemates about the languages to be spoken in his house.

As English will be the primary language to be spoken inside the house, the other 10 official languages like Xhosa, Sotho and Isizulu will also be allowed but to a minimal level.

And that being said, the housemates are very aware of the fact that they can speak vernacular however if they continuosly speak in their home languages, they must also be aware that they could be limiting some fans from voting for them.

Here are the 11 official South African languages: Zulu, Afrikaans, English, Swati, Tswana, Xhosa, Tsonga, Sotho, Venda, Northern Sotho and Southern Ndebele.
