Tembi Lands New Role On e.tv’s 'The Kingdom: uKhakhayi'

Former Big Brother Mzansi season 2 'Double Trouble' contestant, TembelaTembiMgandela is already bouncing back to our television screens.

Just recently, the lovely Tembi has landed a new role in e.tv’s new series titled The Kingdom: uKhakhayi.

The 26-year-old actress revealed that it’s her first TV series.

“Being part of the cast is so humbling to me. This is a new challenge and I want to make it memorable.

“This is actually a blessing because I studied performance art in Durban. I see this as an opportunity to share my craft as an actress and performer,” Tembi said.

She said she’ll be playing the character of Nomabhaca, a young girl who comes from a well-off family and has a spiritual gift she inherited from her granny.

“Nomabhaca is a simple child who is not that comfortable with living with her well-off family. So she moves to her grandma’s house to lead a simple life,” she said.

Tembi said she and her character don’t have anything in common and she had to research the character.

“I had to dig deep into people who have spiritual gifts because they carry so much power.

“They withdraw from negative energy and protect their space at all costs. Nombhaca and I are also not the same age. And I’m a happy-go-lucky person,” she added.

Tembi first showed up on our small screens as a Big Brother Mzansi housemate last year and got featured in two short films that played on Mzansi Magic (DStv, channel 161).

Don't forget to catch The Kingdom uKhakhayi every Tuesday night at 8:30pm & again at 9:05 only on ETV.
